President’s Report

Here is the latest from our President, Trent Steenholdt (president@wacua.asn.au)

  • Life Members Luncheon – Thank you to everyone that RSVP’d for the luncheon. This year was unique with Perth hosting its first day-night test match so the format may be a little different again this year. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this, please contact the committee at secretary@wacua.asn.au.
  • Pay rates for next season – The pay rates for Season 2020-21 have been submitted to the WACA and have been accepted. They are subject to budgetary approval but the proposed rates would be:
  • T20 Match – The T20 Match is still on and is scheduled for Saturday 28th December 2019, subject to ground availability. This year we’re hoping to play on Turf at Kent Street Senior High School thanks again to my father, Val Steenholdt who is the curator. More information about this will come out separately from our committee reports so keep your eyes open for it!
  • MOU for Season 2020-21 – The Committee met with Alan Johanson and Daniel Gibbons for a very productive discussion about the MOU and how we would like to collaborate next season. Some of the items on the table are:
    • Wording and grammatical fixes.
    • Refinement of the registration process for WA Premier Cricket when an umpire is a WACUA Life Member.
    • Annual Season Dinner arrangements, including discussions for this years event including a great suggestion from Wayne Barron with awarding grand final umpire medals on the evening of Dinner rather than at the end of the days play.
    • Co-branding for off-field uniforms.
    • WACA’s suggested changes of on-field uniform apparel

The MOU for Season 2019/20 remain unchanged of course. Stay tuned for more news about the MOU for Season 2020/21.
  • Events Calendar – The events calendar at www.wacua.asn.au/events has been populated with all our events. Please make sure to book out your own calendars for events that you’re entitled to come to for free like the Annual Season Dinner (4 April 2020).

Treasurer’s Report

Here is the latest from our Treasurer, Andrew Micenko (treasurer@wacua.asn.au)

Hello everyone, it’ll be a short report from me this time. Not a great deal has changed since our last meeting. We’ve paid Ace Promotions for the latest batch of merchandise (this payment happened on the same day as our last meeting), so it’d be great if everyone who’s ordered could get their money in ASAP.

We’ve also held the first back to base event at Fletcher Park where we put on drinks and a BBQ.

Finally, thanks to Cortana Design for $1000 in sponsorship money! Some of you already have the MOS branded WACUA polos.

At the last meeting there were some questions around the budget and where the association’s money is being spent. I’ve added the budget below for full disclosure. Please note that this is an approximation only and things may change. I’ve been adjusting some of the figures as we go along and gain a better understanding of what we need. I’ve also attached the finances for the financial year as they currently are and I will be doing this each report this season.

That’s all from me – thanks for reading!

Andrew
