President’s Report
Hi members,
I promise this report will be a lot shorter then the ones I normally write…. That’s only because I’ve managed to damage my desktop keyboard this morning with a cup of coffee so I’m having to type this out on the phone!
Here is the latest news and announcements:
Upcoming events: We have a number of events coming up at the end of the season that we want you all to come along too! In no particular order:

Two course meal (dinner and dessert) with a cash bar. We’ll be celebrating all our successes for the year, announcing winners of Umpire of the year for each grade and the Peter McConnell Medal. This time we’re in East Perth where we’ll start at The Camfield Pub outside the new home of Cricket, Optus Stadium. Following a few drinks there we’ll stick in the area to allow those passionate Eagles fans watch them thrash that other team that never wins in the West! RSVP now at https://www.wacua.asn.au/event/the-march-of-the-penguins-3-0/
Test Match Umpires’ Walk at the WACA Ground: The WACUA in conjunction with the WACA are proud to announce the Test Match Umpires’ Walk, similar to the Test Match Players’ Walk behind Lillee Marsh Stand is going to be unveiled on Friday February 22 during the Women’s ODI. This has only been made possible by the tireless work Alan Johanson and his team have put in. The WACUA as whole are very grateful for the WACA works in making sure some of WA’s most respected umpires are never forgotten!
Memorandum of Understanding:We will be voting on the MOU in general business section of our February meeting. The document has had some minor updates to grammar, spelling and legal terminology following the legal team at the WACA giving it final look over. It’s attached below. If you want to know the benefits of the MOU, please feel free to read our last several Committee Reports!

Treasurer’s Report
Hello everyone, I’d like to give you a very quick update this time. Since last meeting we’ve had a few usual social expenses (BBQ, drinks). We’ve also paid the deposit for our annual dinner which was $1500. We will have to pay the remainder of the balance a week before the event itself. In order to cover this and other costs that will come up before then, I’ve moved $4000 from our savings account to our everyday account. This may be overkill, so I’ll see how much comes in from ticket sales (hint, hint) and probably transfer some of it back into savings if cash flow is OK.
Here are our current balances (correct at time of writing): Cheque account: $7918.45 Savings account: $10019.83 Cash: $82 Total: $18020.28
